Hey,
I'm looking to weave a scarf collection out in India in October and would love to get hold of some fine silk and chunky wool yarns out in India, hopefully as natural as possible with no chemicals used in their productions???
Would to be great to hear if anyone has contacts out there.
Many thanks

Yes, I am with Carrie!!! Why do we not not have fabric banks or rag houses? (At least ones that I can find!) :)

Looking for small amounts (2-40 metres) of HANDWOVEN, NATURALLY DYED SILK FABRIC? Many of our pieces are organically produced and hand-reeled with small slubs that add wonderful texture and character to the fabric. Various weights available. We're a fairtrade social enterprise based in Canada and we work with rural women's weaving groups in Thailand and Laos. Also, 20-40 metre pieces of HAND-REELED ORGANIC SILK available on order if you have time, as it takes 3 months for 1 weaver to create and/or prepare the silk yarns, dye them with natural dyes and weave the fabric. It can take longer depending on the season (rainy season is poor for weaving silk). Enquiries welcome. We're looking for long-term customers who want to build solid relationships with us. Check out http://www.tammachat.com/shop/silk_fabrics.html. Check out the site for info on us, the artisans, fairtrade and more.

Hi, I am in New Zealand, if you are a womens or menswear designer and have large offcuts which you can't use then I would be interested in them for my children's clothing label which uses 100% natural or organic or recycled fabrics - no synthetics - to make gorgeous designer garments for kids. Interested in anything 100% merino, 100% wool, 100% organic cotton, hemp, natural fibre blends i.e hemp/silk or hemp/cotton, recycled silk etc etc

I operate a small independent label and sell organic and Fairtrade shirting weight cotton which is 120cm wide. I have some bespoke silk screens of paisley (baby blue on white, sand on white) and polka dot (black polkas on raspberry pink or pea green). Lots of plain colours. I also import South African shweshwe which is the fabric Nelson Mandela uses for his funky shirts--my shweshwe comes from the same factory which is 45% owned by the workers themselves. Email me for swatches £3. Organic/Fairtrade per m = £4.00 Shwshwe per m = £6.00 Minimum 5m of fabric per order.

Try at lichtschatz.com. Most of their regular offered organic cottons are natural or bleached. Sometimes they have overstock production of dyed fabrics (rolls 50-80mtr.)
