Looking for small amounts (2-40 metres) of HANDWOVEN, NATURALLY DYED SILK FABRIC? Many of our pieces are organically produced and hand-reeled with small slubs that add wonderful texture and character to the fabric. Various weights available. We're a fairtrade social enterprise based in Canada and we work with rural women's weaving groups in Thailand and Laos. Also, 20-40 metre pieces of HAND-REELED ORGANIC SILK available on order if you have time, as it takes 3 months for 1 weaver to create and/or prepare the silk yarns, dye them with natural dyes and weave the fabric. It can take longer depending on the season (rainy season is poor for weaving silk). Enquiries welcome. We're looking for long-term customers who want to build solid relationships with us. Check out http://www.tammachat.com/shop/silk_fabrics.html. Check out the site for info on us, the artisans, fairtrade and more.

Hello All,

As most of the posts go, I am looking for finding manufacturers here in London to produce some items for my clothing line and I was wondering if anyone could point me in a good direction here in London or close enough? Thanks for any help!

Hi there,
I feel the same as Holly. I am also a london based designer and have been advised by various professionals that I could look into getting my work manufactured and into shops, as well as to present at 'PURE' to find new buyers.
I too would prefer to keep it local.
Can you think of anyone suitable off the top of your head?
cheers xx

Hello, I'm a London based designer-maker, looking for places to get some of my fashion pieces produced and manufactured. I don't really want to go abroad for this, due to air miles, I prefer to keep things local but any information or contacts shared would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you to anyone who is able to share this information with me.
Holly.

Hi all

I set up an ethical book club

Please have a look

I have started a with a couple books and ask you to all follow the format

1) add a discussion (as its easier for people to comment their thoughts back rather than on the comment wall)
2) add a picture of the book
3) make sure you title it with author
4) give your personal review on the book ( i took from amazon but please give your own as this was simply for example purposes)
5) your score card out of 5 please - 5 = excellent, 4 = very good, 3 = good, 2 = average, 1 = poor

and most importantly read, learn and enjoy! AND TELL YOUR FRIENDS to join too!!!
