Hi Group.. I would like to introduce myself. I am founder of my own clothing label MIA by Mia Nisbet. MIA is an upcycled collection produced in Malawi, Africa. I work with local tailors to create the collections. All resouces are found in Malawi. I source clothes from the street markets which have been imported from US, europe and elsewhere. I then fuse these fabrics with there traditional Malawian textiles. My business has been running for 1 year now. If anyone is interested I have a stand at the Lake of Stars/ Vinspired press launch tomorrow at the Rich Mix cinema. It would be great to meet you and chat about our projects.. The launch starts at 7.. There will be some performances from Malawian artists so is set to be a good night. Hope to see you there xxx

hello everyone i have mentioned my business in the group but not quiet introduced my self to the group. my name is Anrette Ngafor and am part owner of the african inspired label call KiRette Couture with Kibonen Nfi who is based NYC. KC is a joint venture of two friends who decided they wanted to make a difference in the home country Cameroon through our love and passion for fashion. Our main aim is to work closely with tailors in Cameroon by giving back something to the African economy. we are a small company and have been running for only 6 month and are quiet excited by the way the world has recieved what we are trying to do. We are currently trying to set up a workshop in Cameroon and looking to source out fabrics from all over the world which will help boost our business. We are also looking for stockist who are ready to stock our products so if anyone knows of any shops and boutiques pls send a msg to me. I feel very luck to be part of a group like this that everyone is trying to make a difference in life.

hey Loza....welcome to the group...we spoke before and i admire your work alot....
i may have mentioned to you the workshop i am also working with in Ghana (alongside couple factories i am in talks with in East Africa). Its early days with the Ghana workshop but it helps to support local tailors in the area and has all the machinery needed for cut make and sew. Let me know if you want to know more OR if better once i have fully tested them on sampling i can contact you?

I don't think I've introduced myself in this group yet!
Hi all, Loza Maléombho is a start-up Fashion label for women. All designs and developments take place in NYC then are sent to Côte d'Ivoire to be produced in local workshops. Our aim is to eventually boost the jobs market and give back to the health and education system in W. African countries. I am currently sourcing for manufacturing workshops on the west coast and textile and prints manufacturing anywhere in Africa. Thanks and good luck to everyone here to make a different in Africa!

Hi Neal. We're manufacturing in Tanzania using organic cotton - totally vertical set up so complete transparency from cotton to garment. We also hold stock of blank t-shirts in the UK which are ready to have your own designs put on them, with no minimum qty and next day delivery.
