thanks for the info...i have contacted them
funny enough they may be able to assist me on my other business i am settin gup with africa...i think even more i need to just get out to africa on a big trip! How was living in Malawi and South Africa? Did you find an internship in the end? If you are still able to help with the set up of my business then let me know. I have a lot to organise and would appreciate the help. Let me know if you can meet up some time.
Always great to meet a fellow Blantyre! What we are looking into is trying to set up a project similar to the want that is being set up in Bangalore India with an organization that I am working with called Ubuntu at work. Have a pick at there website www.ubuntuatwork.com. Ubuntu at Work is a global social networking community that connects women micro entrepreneurs across the developing world with coaches and collaborators who offer them encouragement and support to develop sound business ideas, funding assistance, and networking resources to pursue their entrepreneurial aspirations.
The project I would like to work on in Malawi is continuing what I do designing accessories etc.. out of recycled, sustainable materials etc.. hope this helps with information .. about me I was born in Canada and moved and lived in Blantyre... Studied Industrial design from Emily Carr institute of art and Design... :)
Look forward to hearing from you.
Best

I would love to find out more about you!
Best wishes,
Katie
I'm the Africa Group Administrator and I'm currently expanding this network as much as possible. I'll definitely let you know if I hear of any internship. I think Meaghan has contacted you too. Good luck with your search and welcome to the Africa group!
either way all the best!
Last November I had the opportunity to move into the fashion world at the Strathclyde University Malawi Millennium Fund fashion show and launched 'tartans for Africa'. It was an amazing spectacle and brought the house down. If you look at the pics on my profile you can see one of the outfits.
At tartans for Africa we are trying to set ever higher standards in ethical and sustainable fashion and I co-operate on a number of projects with organisations and individuals worldwide. I also work with students and have just completed a project with students at Gray's School of Art in Aberdeen .
If you give me an e-mail address or mail me at davidmcgill61@yahoo.co.uk I'll be pleased to send you more info.
