About me / About business or organisation:
Amisha Ghadiali is a creative activist for positive social change, a designer, a campaigner, an entrepreneur and a writer. The motivation running through her work is for us to to live in a more connected and optimistic world, but to have fun whilst we are working towards that.

Amisha has worked within the Ethical Fashion Movement for the past four years, and is passionate about helping us to understand how fashion can change lives.

After working in politics, including both for an MP and a Congressman, Amisha knew she had to find more creative ways to tackle the worlds problems. In 2006 she set up amisha.elegance.rebellion, a socially minded jewellery label, presenting eclectic pieces that embody romance and timeless elegance whilst hinting at the spirit of passion and rebellion that come with just seeing where life takes you…

Amisha means, literally, someone who spreads ‘the sweetest elixir of the heavens’ all around her, and it is this sentiment of vitality she hopes will be instilled and carried in every piece of her jewellery.

Working on her label left her even more curious about the bigger picture and led her to the Ethical Fashion Forum (EFF) where she was Associate Director until July 2010. She started work there as production manager for the RE:Fashion Awards 2008, the world’s first award ceremony celebrating ethical fashion.

At the EFF she played a key role on strategy of the organisation worked worked on various projects. This included co-ordinating the Spotlight on Sourcing event series and launching the Ethical Fashion Forum’s international online network, which now has over 4000 active members from all over the world.

Amisha now works with fashion brands helping them understand the complete picture when it comes to bringing sustainability into their businesses, and advising them on how to increase their presence on-line.

In addition to this Amisha writes about ethical fashion and is the ‘girl across the pond’ for US based Ecouterre.com

In early 2010 with the election looming in the UK, Amisha set up the Think Act Vote Campaign, to inspire us to think positively about the future and understand how what we do on a daily basis shapes our world. Having worked on more traditional campaigns including the iconic Make Poverty History, she realised that there was an opportunity to run Think Act Vote as a creative campaign building sustainability into the core.

Amisha is passionate about how we can all work together to find innovative solutions that can tackle our World’s problems. She works freelance on different projects that fit her values, including working as a host at the Hub Kings Cross.

Having worked for herself and small growing organisations, Amisha has learnt how to deliver on all aspects of the business. Her passions and strengths are in Communications, Digital Technology, Sustainability, Events and Creative Thinking.

Amisha regularly speaks at events and conferences about her work and about ethical fashion in general. This has included hosting an ethical fashion show at the William Morris Gallery, working with schools & universities and being interviewed at the music festival Vintage at Goodwood.

Outside of work, Amisha loves scuba diving, and is a supporter of the arts and cultural industries including film, theatre and music. She loves to travel and has had amazing adventures in places such as Palestine, Bulgaria, Iceland, Latin America and India. (Hurry up solar-powered planes!)
