ANY MEMBERS BASED IN KENYA!!!

This Thursday in Nairobi is the first monthly Ethical Fashion Social!!!
It will be from 6:30-10 pm at Mercury Lounge, ABC Plaza, Lavington.

This is an opportunity for network members and all those
interested in ethical fashion to come and join us for a drink and
some socializing: meet up with other members, put faces to names
and have the opportunity to network amongst people with similar
interests.
Everyone is welcome and we hope to see you there!

The information is as well posted in the Events section but if anyone needs further information, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Hope to see you there!

The restrictions imposed on China did little to assist the SA market as Chantal points out. In just the last 6 months, one of the biggest suppliers of natural, organic and ethical texties (FRAME) closed up shop in South Africa., they simply could not compete with cheap imports!

FIFA is controlling all the branding that goes with the world cup but that has never stopped the black market has it? Sadly Africa has become a dumping ground for the rest of the worlds junk fashion

I wonder if the end of China's export restrictions to South Africa has anything to do with the 2010 World Cup and endless clothing merchandise opportunities....

Even though the figures sight very little impact the restrictions had, it is very visible to see how the South African market was flooded by cheap imports. I can't believe they are doing both the South African labour force ( which has virtually been put out of business) or consumers any favors by doing away with these restrictions..

FashionMag.com Reports....

"China does not plan to renew a voluntary two-year restriction on textile exports to South Africa imposed after unions complained that cheap imports were hurting local manufacturers, its ambassador said on Tuesday 15 September."
