As a fashion illustrator, I was asked last year to produce an image to promote a company that sells plus-size fashion.
Researching a little into what constitutes "plus-size" fashion, I was horrified to discover that "plus-size" models these days are a SIZE 12 and above!!

Great topic to bring up! It's a discussion that seems very left out of the bigger fashion conversation, even though recently there has been a small trend to publicize larger size models.
I recently read a great article on the benefits of giving and receiving clothing for premature babies and their parents. Clothing for the premature babies actually helped the parents as well as the staff to bond more with babies that are rather isolated inside of a glass box. It was a great article but pointed out the power of how clothing can help people 'feel' better about themselves and others.
