Hello,

I’m Rachel Wintz, a Sociologist from Anchorage, Alaska. I’m working on a proposal to study and report on the sustainable fashion industry, profiling sustainable innovations within the industry and looking toward the future of the fashion industry and its impact around the globe on social, economic, and environmental factors.

I’d like to interview people in all sorts of positions within the fashion industry -from the farm to the factory to the shop. If the proposal is funded, I will be submitting reports to be disseminated by either the National Geographic or the Institute of Current World Affairs. If you’re available for an interview about your work in the sustainable fashion industry or perhaps would like to do a multimedia project about your work, please contact me at rachelwintz@gmail.com.

Additionally, if you have information or resources you can refer me to, I’m happy to receive any expertise you have to share with me about the sustainable fashion industry. Your collaboration is much appreciated and will greatly enhance my understanding of the sustainable fashion industry.

If you’d like to take a look at my work, please visit my portfolio: https://sites.google.com/site/portfoliorachelwintz/

Thank you,

Rachel Wintz     rachelwintz@gmail.com

this is a long shot... but is there anywhere where I could/find get a list of GOTS or Oeko-Tex certified factories? This is for my own research and also for the sustainable company I work for in Belgium. Thanks!

Hi Everyone,

I'm looking for eco-friendly fabrics that are manufactured in the US, perhaps those that are manufactured with a closed loop, made out of domestic raw
materials.

Some of the fabrics that I'd be interested in included:

Peace Silk (I know it's mainly produced in India.)
Wool (Found Vermont Organic Fiber Company, but would consider others.)
Bamboo blend, Chitosan, Modal blend or Lenpur (for suiting tops)
Sasawashi
Seacell
Soyfiber
Tencel

Most of the tops will be woven, not knit. If you can suggest other fabrics
based on drape, that would be helpful too. Some of these fabrics I've
chosen based on properties other than drape. Therefore, I'm not
certain that they will be the best for what I need.

I'm looking for fabrics for all seasons right now since I'm looking to use the cost of these fabrics to do financial projections for my
line. If you work for a textile wholesaler, I'd love swatches if you can send some you think would be helpful.

Thank you all in advance!

~Jill

Hi,I am conducting a survey for my MA project at London College of Fashion to understand the consumer behaviour towards eco-fashion clothing in the premium and luxury segment with a primary focus on eco-luxuryT-shirts. Please go to this link and fill up the survey questionnaire.

Please forward this all your friends as well. Your opinions and viewpoints matter alot and it would be of great help to me if you couldcomplete the survey. Thank you once again.
