The Guilt-Free Way of Shopping

Ethical clothing. Fair trade. Organic cotton. Sweatshop labour. All words we've heard strung together and often put in sentences to make us feel guilty about our consumption. New video: sustainable bamboo

Bamboo is touted to be a sustainable fabric, yet it must be highly processed with large chemical or mechanical inputs to create soft fabrics. Instead, we found a much more sustainable way to use bamboo: harvest it in ways that you can continue to harvest over long periods of time, soak the bamboo, then peel the skin and weave it into baskets.

John Patrick is actually a man of many hats!



His first was a beanie of macrobiotic foods when he grew up in the counter-culture revolution of the 60's. But he soon exchanged that one for the cap of communal living in the 1970’s.
