Career history / Company history:
I spent over a decade in the United Kingdom and for the majority was working in the fashion and textiles industry. After discovering the damaging effects of the fashion industry to the environment and people; I set up her own small business to work strictly with reclaimed and sustainable materials. I sold her first ever garments through a tiny boutique in Brighton’s East Side. The excitement of selling my own work struck a chord and she spent six years working on her own label.

I grew up in the heart of Saskatchewan watching my mother cut and sew everything from garments to home furnishings. My inspirations have always come from past decades focusing mainly on the 1920′s to 1960′s including fashion, interiors, cars, lingerie and of course music!

My experience in fashion soon led to other paths including teaching, mentoring and lecturing at colleges and universities. I also taught creative workshops and parties at a wonderful place called The Makery in Bath, Somerset.
I have the facility to teach everything from basic sewing, dressmaking, underwear, accessories, soft toys and home furnishings. She has worked with both adults and children from ages 7 to 16 and have also done private 1 to 1 sewing tuition. I have also run ‘Fashion Upcycling’ workshops in both colleges and for special events including the ‘START – A Garden Party to Make a Difference’ which was hosted at Prince Charles’ own Clarence House in London. I returned to Canada last year to re-connect with family with the dream of setting up a teaching studio.

Dear Enamore,

My name is Laricea Ioana Roman and I am a student at Kingston University, London (KU ID 0942659). I am doing a Master in Marketing, Advertising and Communications and at the moment I am writing my Dissertation. My topic is related to ethical clothing, more specifically, I am investigating how personal values influence customers' decision to buy ethical clothing. In order to come up with some answers for my topic, I need some opinions from people who actually bought ethical clothes.

This is the reason why I am kindly asking you to help me and fill in my questionnaire. It will take you no more than 10 minutes and you can win three books and £30 vouchers!
