Hello

My name is Kyosun, Shim and a current MSc Marketing student from the University of Bath.

I am currently researching ethical clothing consumption experience in UK fashion market, and urgently and desperately looking for customers who shop or shopped in any ethical fashion store for an interview.
If you can give me 30 min to interview you, It would be very appreciated
The interview could be conducted via phone or in person(Mobile or Skype) . interviews conducted are solely for academic use and it will not be used for commercial purposes. Participating interviewees will be kept anonymous and data obtained will be treated with strict confidentiality.

Please feel free to contact for any question, I really hope you could help me

Thank you!

That's exactly what I would hope could happen. Would it be possible to put one of the Cambodian producer groups directly in touch with the relevant person at the EFF? I don't know whether there is financial support available to cover their airfare etc? If not this might be something that I could approach Traidcraft about? Please keep me posted!

Hi, many thanks for sharing this. I visit Cambodia twice a year at the moment - mainly because I've been spending more time based in the UK to get Aspara up and running. When I left Cambodia I promised the groups that I would try and improve market access for them - initially by setting up my own label, Aspara. The idea being that if Aspara is well received, it should hopefully open doors for them to sell to other buyers as they will already have a track record of selling into the UK successfully. Thanks for the heads up on the EFF marketplace towards the end of this year - it would indeed be great to see if at least one Cambodian group could attend. I'm due to skype with the Traidcraft rep in Cambodia on Friday so will certainly mention this exciting opportunity!

Hi! Thanks so much for your lovely comments - I've only just got to grips with updating my profile and hope to sign up as a business member now that I'm finally close to launching! I used to live and work in Cambodia and have spent many years getting to know the silk weavers and artisans out there. I work with a number of groups and the photos I've just posted are from two of the larger cooperatives I partner with. There are many wonderful, committed groups out there and I returned from my latest trip last Friday. I'm really keen to put several of these cooperatives in touch with other UK based ethical designers/retailers and to support them in finding more buyers. Traidcraft are also working with some of these groups so I'm hoping between the two of us we can share our experiences with others in the ethical fashion industry - via the EFF and the fabulous work you do!

Hi,
NIce to hear about you.
Well I am Siddhartha Upadhyaya, an ethical fashion designer cum technologist from india.

We have come up with a breakthrough in sustainable fashion designing 'DPOL'

DPOL means 'Direct panel on loom'. The technology and collection is first of its kinds and patent has been acquired by its promoters and designer. DPOL is a signature technology which has been presented and acknowledged at national level conferences by stalwarts of fashion industry.

Using DPOL one can produce ready to stitch shaped woven garment components. These components are finished at the edges by selvedge. This considerably increases fabric efficiency by approx 15%-22% and reduces lead time by approx 50%. DPOL supports sustainability by reducing chemical and other wastages by 17%-20%, thus imparting the eco-friendly nature to the apparels right from the inception of the process to develop the garments.

Apart from the eco-friendly aspect of the innovation, there are many notable uniqueness, some of these are: Continuity of design, proportionate design, non repeatable design and motifs etc.

For your quick reference, you may like to visit our website www.august.synthasite.com

Can we meet up sometime with regard to same. Please send me your mail address/phone number at siddhartha.upadhyaya@gmail.com, my phone no. is 0091 ( the country code ) 9742343254

looking forward to meet you

Siddhartha
