I aim to pursue a career within sustainable fashion and at this stage want to gain experience of all elements of the sector through placement and job opportunities both in the UK and abroad.
About me / About business or organisation:
Originally from Ireland, I studied in Edinburgh and Madrid and have since lived and worked in Cape Town, Dublin and Buenos Aires before arriving in London back in 2007. I have always had a passion for design, textiles, trends, travel and foreign cultures and aim to combine these in a career focused on positive social change. I am extremely interested in ethical trade, sustainable fashion, social enterprise and international development.
Career history / Company history:
After graduating in International Business and Languages, I spent time volunteering in a township in Cape Town before returning to Dublin to work for an Irish NGO working in South African townships. I went on to work and travel in South America before moving to London where I joined BT's CSR team, working on their Better World Campaign. Since leaving BT, I have spent time working at The Big Lunch and Ogunte before starting more recently with the Ethical Tea Partnership and MADE-BY. I am also involved in a South African social enterprise called Babazeka.
