About me / About business or organisation:
I have worked as a menswear designer for 5 years and in fashion for 10 years. The years i worked in retail are the reason i am now nterested in ethical fashion, i experienced first-hand the greed and injustice of the industry so i decided to leave retail and hopefully one day i will be able to work again as a designer but ethically and without causing harm to others or the environment.

Ideally i would love to work in South America or India teaching what i know to textile workers, as well as learning myself about local crafts.
Career history / Company history:

Bershka(Inditex)-Menswear Designer BCN
April 2006-June 2008
During my time at Bershka I have solely designed the shirting, tailoring, accessory, leather and swimwear collections for 5 seasons.

- Designing my collections based upon trend research, sales and the competition.
- Daily contact with several national and international suppliers in English and Spanish throughout the Far East, India and Turkey, regarding quality, colour, production and design confirmations.

- Seasonal visits to trade fairs, including bread and butter, CPG Copenhagen, Pitti Uomo and Premier Vision. During these trips we focus upon trends/colours and changes to come in the following season.
- Buying fabric/ trimmings for the following season, based upon our trend research, this usually takes place at head office with the occasional trip to fabric suppliers.
- Supplier visits abroad, this allows us to observe how sample making and production takes place, as well as to get to know our suppliers within their work place.
- Presentation and sale of my collections to the buyers and product managers

I assisted the head designer with designing the main woven collection, and undertook the responsibility of designing the entire jersey collection called the UNDERS label.
