About me / About business or organisation:: Amanda Judge holds an M.A. in Law and Diplomacy from The Fletcher School at Tufts University where she studied development economics and poverty reduction strategies. Field research on the survival strategies of women in poverty in rural Ecuador led her to the indigenous artisans of northern Ecuador. In order to introduce their exquisite rare materials to the U.S. market and increase the standard of living for the artisans, Amanda created The Andean Collection in September 2008. Amanda currently resides in Manhattan’s East Village and can be contacted at amanda@theandeancollection.com

Career history / Company history:: Prior to stating The Andean Collection, Amanda’s work in Latin America consisted of consulting for microfinance projects in Peru and Ecuador and an HIV-related project for UNICEF Nicaragua. With a BS in Finance, Amanda began her professional career in financial services, deciding in 2006 to pursue her passion of international development.

Today, I am ecstatic to report that the non-profit wing of The Andean Collection, aptly named, "The Andean Project"** has decided on its first project. A little while ago I received a phone call from Sarah, our intern in Ecuador, who was concerned about a situation arising in Olga's family.
