Welcome to the Forum. Interesting to read about you and your business ambitions. How are you getting on with your final year? We've been working with Fashion Design students up at Gray's School in Aberdeen on a live project and it's been so rewarding. If you're interested in the manufacturing side of things then one of our directors David McGill, whose side projects ('Tartans for Africa' and 'International Tartans) have made him very knowledgeable about manufacturing, both in the UK and overseas. my trip is a little up in the air at the moment and waiting to confirm trip and visas etc etc but i should be going to Bangalore and Coimbatore/Tirupur (spelling often wrong by me !!) but i thought you were interested in Africa?? or was it always India :) either way they are both important regions to focus on. it will be my first trip there so I have alot to consider too. Re shops did you see the ad from runway showroom and also laden showroom, also beyond the valley...may be good to try

im still a busy bee...focusing on studies at present - 8 more months to go. And working out plans for 2011 regarding plans with Africa...lots on towork out but all is well.

it all sounds like fun but will probably be busy too. I am not sure about sending things in India....just worked with Ghana and Kenya. My India trip last year was cancelled unfortunately but maybe next year...

have you tried any others in the forum who are good with india??

if its your personal luggage I would take it with me. if its business stuff you wanna send just make sure its a good courier and they deliver to door. But i would get recommended one. Easiest option is to pack light and take it with you as luggage. Couriers generally unless recommended can be hit or miss.

           There are no problems for the big ones Silk all over gold zari works is traditional business in south india to U.K. market. But all want bulk container loads  ,not keen on custom driven/ design driven  designer works.
