'MORALFIBRE - We are very pleased to let you know that recently we received a funding from the Indian Govt. Textiles for ‘Integrated Skill Development Programme’ for skill upgradation of 5000 artisans in hand spinning, weaving and processing in Gujarat, India.  This is a 5 years programme and we are of course, very excited about it.  This will give us an opportunity to develop even superior fabrics and contribute to increasing earning power of the artisans.

'MORALFIBRE frees the environment from pollution and depletion and frees people from poverty.'

For our large range of  'Almost Carbon Neutral' fabrics, furnishings and feel well fashions please contact us.  We have cottons, silks and wool.  We are looking for buyers and agents worldwide.  please contact us on moralfibre77@gmail.com, www.moralfibre-fabrics.com

Hi all

I am undertaking a project entitled Shed Me Clothes, which is based on biomimetics (using nature for inspiration for design problems). I am in the process of developed a textile that can shed like a snake to eliminate the need to launder garments. The use phase of a garment is the most energy intensive, therefore eliminating the laundering phase energy will be saved. (Please see www.shedmeclothes.com

I am in the process of exploring what features determin how frequently a garment is laundered and what features ensure garments are never laundered. Please fill in my survey to help me find out:

http://freeonlinesurveys.com/rendersurvey.asp?sid=runyzjl5h3z100y78...

From this research I hope to design a series of garments that are designed not to be laundered and to be made in the Shed Me Clothes textile.

Thanking you,

Katie

Hi Everyone,

I'm looking for eco-friendly fabrics that are manufactured in the US, perhaps those that are manufactured with a closed loop, made out of domestic raw
materials.

Some of the fabrics that I'd be interested in included:

Peace Silk (I know it's mainly produced in India.)
Wool (Found Vermont Organic Fiber Company, but would consider others.)
Bamboo blend, Chitosan, Modal blend or Lenpur (for suiting tops)
Sasawashi
Seacell
Soyfiber
Tencel

Most of the tops will be woven, not knit. If you can suggest other fabrics
based on drape, that would be helpful too. Some of these fabrics I've
chosen based on properties other than drape. Therefore, I'm not
certain that they will be the best for what I need.

I'm looking for fabrics for all seasons right now since I'm looking to use the cost of these fabrics to do financial projections for my
line. If you work for a textile wholesaler, I'd love swatches if you can send some you think would be helpful.

Thank you all in advance!

~Jill
