Broaden my knowledge and completing my education in the pattern making and tailoring field by undergoing a series of internships in small/cutting edge laboratories as well as big/well-established companies.
About me / About business or organisation:
Passionate about ethical fashion, natural recycled and innovative textile fibres, vintage clothing and accessories, foreign languages and cultures, arts and tailoring. I simply can't do without pencil and paper as well as thread and needle. I'm into all that's manual and creative work - cooking included.
Career history / Company history:
Work experience:
I am currently an intern at Diletta - womenswear design lab - in Turin, Italy. My role includes pattern making, rectifying defective prototypes, occasional sewing, cutting, ironing, quality check, labelling and packaging.
I have travelled twice (Oct-Dec 2010, May 2011) to Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, where I started, developed and monitored the production of a small line of children's nightwear clothing and accessories (bags, purses) made of naturally dyed, organic cotton. Other activities involved collecting local manifactures' fabric samples, producing colour palettes and informative material...
I have taught EFL in Windsor (UK) and covered various roles within a language school and guest house, mainly involving admin, PR, and secretarial duties.
Education:
I have graduated as Womenswear Patter Maker and Designer at Istituto Carlo Secoli (Milan) in June 2010 - biennial course.
I hold School of Art Diploma (equivalent to A-Levels)
