I do both in fact. I have a special french tartan which was comissioned by the French Institute and think it should do well in France.
I have a series of tartan designs in collections: Europe (10), Africa (22), Japan (4), corporate and sport. Each design uses the national colours of the country in the title. Wool accessories are made here and each tartan is linked to a 'good cause' which receives a % of the profits. Some of these funds are to help set up co-operatives in Africa and india producing the designs'garments in cotton/silk . I work with World Women Trade Fair who organise trade fairs worldwide and organise training.
After the success of my first fashion show we have two more in the pipeline - London and Nagasaki - and Im trying to form links with designers/fundraisers to stage more.
