About me / About business or organisation:: In my spare time make clothes both for my own pleasure and as part of Oxfam's Remake Remodel in Newacastle. As part of this I also customise and renovate clothes they can't sell.

I'm a 6th form student from Newcastle and I'm studying for my A levels in Art and Textiles. I'm really interested in ethical fashion especially in trying raise awareness about the importance of it in the future of the fashion industry. I have always been a bit crazy about clothes and fashion and I plan to go onto study fashion design at university.

I have been doing the AQA Extended Project Qualification as well as my A-Levels, for which I am renovating second hand garments into modern, wearable and desirable pieces and also conducting workshops at my 6th form teaching people how to customise clothes into garments they want to wear very easily and cheaply.

I am doing my Art Foundation next year and am interested in work placement opportunities to expand my knowledge of ethical fashion within the industry.

I know you are used to upcycling, so you might have a more hands-on approach. I would love for you to design a jacket out of a couple pairs of used jeans. We need something that is commercial and that we can mass produce out of a variety of recycled jeans. We also do jean skirts and bags, so if you would rather do one of those items, that would be fine too. Thanks!

At the moment, we are mostly looking for creative designers interested in doing work pro-bono; if we find the right person however, it could evolve into a paid position. I do quite a few kilts for weddings and ties (Bobby Robson had one)and occasional scarves but I want to move it into into the realms of fashion. The colours are those of the Northumbria check (also NUFC) so they are very representative of Newcastle. I like the idea of people having a visual identity and a sense of belonging to a place and creating linkage with those in need by donating a % of the cost to say an African country. Maybe you know someone who would be interested?
