We are all finding ourselves, and it is great to take a piece that has been forgotten or broken and to transform it into something beautiful," explains Threadgould. "The beauty was always there, it just had to be found.”

 

Threadgould believes in telling a story through fashion, and as a costume and wardrobe stylist, Threadgould learned that the key to good story telling is in the details. By wearing a piece of Scorpion Sisters jewelry, each person expresses their individuality and tells their own story. The designer’s aunt, Margarita Lopez, taught the designer to find inspiration in the imperfect things. During a flea market trip,Threadgould’s aunt pointed out a box of broken jewelry and asked her to imagine how these broken pieces could be brought back to life. After realizing the potential of these materials, the Scorpion Sisters were born.
