16-foot mountain of secondhand clothing, towering over Hong Kong’s Central Star Ferry Pier.

  • Every year 1.5 million tons of clothes and textiles go to landfill in Britain.
  • This means 9500 garments are thrown into landfill every five minutes.  That is the equivalent of every one in four garments sold.
  • While every other type of landfill waste is reducing, textiles has risen.

Jackie King, executive director of the Secondary Materials and Recycled Textiles Association says; “Consumers don’t realize 95 percent of all clothing and textiles is recyclable... As long as items are clean and dry, even those that are stained or torn, they can be processed by textile recyclers extending the end-of-life of the material."

Don't let your old textiles contribute to global warming.

Send us your old fabrics and we'll help them find new homes!
