I have two themes here though they do slightly cross over.
I work with schools, businesses and individuals providing advice on sustainable procurement, sourcing, traceability (where I go through the whole path of a product or ingredient) setting up and working along side buying groups and running workshops/trainings.
Scouts and Guides Project:
I am a Green Champion for an International Scout and Guide camp that is being held in August. The camp is called Wings2009. It is the first time that the camp has gone down the green route and adds to this years camp theme of "making a difference". The camp is held every 3 years.
The camp is for 7days and there will be various activities held throughout the camp. There will also be a large marquee which will be showcasing various activities which have a global theme.
What I would like to see is - if there is any possibility of anyone keen enough to help run mini workshop/s (can run 1 or 2 days for 1-2hrs) for people to learn about sustainable fashion and in the end would love to have a mini fashion parade using what material we could source.
The idea is being put out to you all - budding designers, fabric producers who are keen to supply textiles (if possible) along with anyone else who would love to be involved in this project.
Schools
Any designers looking at school uniform projects or producers at all? Ideally with links to fair trade.
Please contact for more details.
With kindest regards and advance thanks!
