With the promise of witnessing some of London’s most edgy, eclectic and ‘alternative’ designers, the Alternative Fashion Week’s first show did not disappoint. Opening to City & Islington’s young designer showcase, a collection of up-cycled men’s tailoring re-dressed into feminine womanswear, the collections were as innovative as they were wild.
Amongst the designers, Hastastic!’s playful Up-Cycled headwear caused a stir. One of our pioneering Fellows, it was great to see Chloe Haywood’s latest collection in the flesh. Accessorised with brilliantly white wigs and resin coated candy, the pieces looked unique, feminine and fun.
Check out the pictures from Day 1 here. The Alternative Fashion Week will continue until Saturday, celebrating individuality and self expression. Better still, it’s free!
