expanding my knowledge about ethical fashion and option of having a "made in Britain" 2nd collection
About me / About business or organisation:
Mademoiselle Sophie offers a capsule collection of stylish and environmental friendly pieces made from carefully selected organic fabrics (GOTS certified), sewn by a small team of tailors in Bangalore, India.
Mademoiselle Sophie’s aim is not to offer “fast” or “disposable” fashion. On the contrary, the collections on offer comprise of timeless classic pieces which we hope will be “recycled” by being handed down to other little ones rather than beings discarded in landfill sites.
Career history / Company history:
In 2010, I moved to Bangalore to be with my partner who was relocated there on a short term assignment. I always wanted to have my own business and decided to make the most of her time in India to look into setting up a small children’s wear label which would be eco-friendly. After weeks of research on designs, I met a young designer in Bangalore, who designed and produced the Mademoiselle Sophie Collection with her small team of tailors.
