- I began making clothes for friends and family around 10 years ago. This lead me to selling designs at local markets and later studying the ins and outs of clothing production at college. My clothing label 'Mother Maria' was born in 2005, and has grown steadily since. Our concentration is on sustainability whilst creative beautiful, timeless, garments.

I saw that you're located in Brisbane. I thought you might be interested in the Ethical Fashion Evening the Qld Fair Trade Collective have organised for 20 May. It's an informal evening featuring guest speakers, canapes, drinks and some impressive lucky door prizes. Speakers include Milly Gamlin from The Social Studio, Paula Rogers from TFIA and Fair Traders of Australia, and Alice Jones owner and designer at Fair Trade label Sinerji. Tickets are only $15.
