Profession / role:
Marketing
Company / organisation:
The RagBag Store
Website (if you have one):

My primary role in relation to fashion is:
Supplier
I am looking to discover or buy
A way in which to get these bags into the UK market.
About me / About business or organisation:
I have been living in Egypt for the past 2years and thoroughly enjoy the culture and its beautiful all year round sun. Whilst my knowledge on fashion has a long way to develop, I have enjoyed working closely with a foundation out here that produces our beautiful selection of bags.
I enjoy listening and sharing opinions on important issues such as ethics, but I what I enjoy most is being a part of something that really makes a positive difference to peoples lives.
We are constantly looking for way to develop our products and put more back into the lives of the women who are involved in the production process.
Career history / Company history:
Leaving college I spent my first few years working throughout the UK in the hospitality trade, which was thoroughly enjoyable in all it challenges exceeding customer expectations.
University followed, attending Solent where I studied marketing creating a solid understanding of this field. Combined with short work experience at various companies this time was great experience in my life.
Shortly after this I came to Egypt for a short break and to visit some family, this short break turned into a 2 year residency.
I spent the first year working for an oil field consultants company, meeting strict deadlines and handling hi-profile clients. During this time I would spend much of my free time meeting locals and learning about the culture. It was then I wanted to make a change, and in conjunction with Heather McAdam we begun sourcing ethical products produced here in Cairo and begun building The RagBag Store.
It was clear to see that these bags are produced with some of the highest ethical standards around, with such significant amounts being reinvested into the women and their families.
