I am currently studying Fashion and Textile Management at Nottingham Trent (2009). During my placement year and once I've graduated, I aspire to work within the sustainable fashion industry. Last November I attended Sustainable Fashion management workshops run by the Ethical Fashion, confirming I am perusing a career path that particularly interests me and I want to be part of.
I actively buy ethical products, favourite retailers include Ascension and howies.
Career history / Company history:
Student. For my A2 Textile Technology course I produced an evening dress for young females made from organic silk/hemp, dyeing the fabric purple myself.
This summer I worked at a 'luxury' campsite, fforest, near Cardigan who follow a sustainable lifestyle. Fforest have close links with howies, whose headquarters are in Cardigan town and shop is above the fforest cafe/shop in the centre. I enjoyed a good discount at the store.
The Do lectures ('inspireing people to Do') were held at the Fforest camp in September, it was amazing being able to work at such an inspirational event and be part of the networking and atmosphere.
