Hi Arti, last year we worked on a project called' 'The Four Seasons'. I suppled the tartan cloth and the students designed and made coats - www.sakurascotland.com. The designs were amazing and it was a wonderful experience. One student won a scholarship to New York and another to Tokyo. Weve just finished our third fashion show and the Japanese Consul General awarded prizes. This year in keeping with the recessionand cutting back the brief is to create the type of outfits that the early European (Scots and Ulster Scots) settlers in the New England states might have created for 'special' occasions - Americana. Ive givem them 5 of my US State tartans - www,internationaltartans.co.uk - but they must use them sparingly and marry them with other cheaper materials. I hope to have the US Consul at the fashion show launch. I thought it would interesting to run a parallel project in the US and create an international link
Im about to start a joint design project with the fashion dept at Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen entitled 'Americana'. Would Columbia College be interested in some form of collaboration?

That's brilliant, Arti, thanks! It's printing off as we speak...

Hi Arti,
Unfortunately I was unable to make it to "Zero Waste.." - I live in the UK and couldn't get away from work!
Do you know if an exhibition catalogue is available?
A battered and used one will do!
