Buyers who value good quality Fabric, clothing, Art, sculpture and Home firnishings from India and Africa.
About me / About business or organisation:
Growing up in India and recently moving to S Africa, I have a wealth of resources from both countries to share with others from around the world. I am passionate about consious entreprenuership... I live for it and believe in it deeply. Ruthless business sense with no respect for people and our precious planet greatly saddens me. I want to be part of the change that's taking place.
My dream is to take all the beautiful things that India and S Africa have and offer it to others, creating an amazing network of Designers, manufacturers and distributors who really care to make difference.
Career history / Company history:
Studied Diploma in Fashion Design from THE DESIGN SCHOOL of BANGALORE in India.
Worked under Indian Designer VIDYASAGAR for two years.
Launched my own Label PRAAZ in South Africa in 2003.
I Export and Import Silks, cotton, other fabrics, art, sculpture and home furnishings from India and South Africa.
I also promote handwoven fabrics and handicraft that have been made by people in organisations like HAND that offer employment to underprevileged people.

I'm the Africa group adminiastrator and I noticed that you recently moved to S.Africa, have set up your own label there and are looking for buyers who value good quality products from both India and Africa. I'm inviting you to join the Africa group, where I will contact you with relevant info, upcoming events and so on. See you there :)
Thats great news Praveen. You can get me at davidmcgill61@yahoo.co.uk. From there I can upload designs for you to look at..
I think it might be a good idea to begin with South Africa.
Thanks Praveen. If you look at www.tartansforafrica.com and www.internationaltartans.co.uk you'll get some idea of the number of designs involved. There are quite a few to be added including one for the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi in 2010.
I already have many of these woven in wool. The cloth, accessories and fashionwear are sold with 10% of the proceeds going to help set up co-operatives in each country with the help of World Women Trade Fair. Each design carries the colours in the flag of each respective country and I would like to see these produced in cotton and turrned into clothing and accessories which can be used locally and exported.
There are 22 African designs alone so to begin with I will need to select certain countries for trials and obtain enough cloth to make a few sample products.
