Escudo is the Spanish and Portuguese name for shield of turtle. All over the world the turtle symbolises fruitility, protection and long life, the explanation of the logo of the fashionhouse; a turtle with a garment shown on its shield.
The philosophy of De Witte is to create beauty combined within a spirit of protection. Her designs are inspired by the elegance of nature, traditional skills and a concious way of living. She acchieves to create wearable clothing, which envelopes the wearer in a feeling of wellnes and comfort. The contrasts she achieves in the designs by the choice of materials combined with the way they are shaped, often create a surreal atmosphere mixed with a typical way of humor.
Rianne de Witte works with high standard, substainable fabrics which are respecting the environment, and the clothes are fairtrade produced. Fairtrade produced clothes stands for clothes produced without abuse from labour, woman or children. She uses substainable materials because they live a long life and fit comfortably.
