I do work with the rural underprivileged women to facilitate the process of improvement in their life, so that they can combat the hunger and provide support to the families especially the children for food, nutrition health and education. The theme what we follow is fashion for human development, as it's strongly believed, there is huge opportunity to make involved the rural women in fashion industries through developing their indigenous knowledge to modern skill and life skills.The women (mothers of the children studying in primary schools) produce the products where we provide the technical support for diversification and market linkage. The main production lines are fashion wear, fashion accessories, furnishing and home textile, and jute made products. They are 950 in number in the of Self-Help Groups where they have the full autonomy to operate and decision making. They raised capital (savings and investment) through weekly savings, and selling share among the members. They have the machines and equipment (garments) for two factories, one in urban and another in rural area. Apart from these they invested to government mutual fund also. In the rural areas the women producers joined home based farming project where they share the contributory fund raining with the government (100% contributory by the government) in urban they are about to have another group registration to the government Women and Children affairs department where they will have allowances during the pregnancy and breast feeding period. Most importantly some of them now provide training for the external trainees in the government project as resource person. You are most welcome to visit my profile and join in this combat against hunger to protect our children from being deprived.

Hello there Ethical fashion Forum,
I have been working with natural fibres in Nepal for a long time now and can supply you with fibre, yarns, textiles, as well as finished goods. Please have a look at www.heavenhemp.co.uk and www.wildweaves.co.uk to get an idea of what we do. I work with hemp, nettle, cactus, banana, bamboo . I also have a small workshop where we make bags, clothing and rugs from natural fibres. Hope to hear from you and would like to be your friend. Take care,
Udaya

Hi I wanted to be in London this month but it's proving undo-able. I saw an EFF branch in USA but perhaps we could start more as I live in Seattle WA;
Right now i am contacting some Urban Craft Uprising refashioners for a show at a local Sustainable Festival for the 26th and maybe they will be interested in joining EFF
In the States, especially close by.?..please contact me. the more we learn from each other, the better.
