While on holiday in Spain I was looking for a new bag, something colourful and different.  I purchased a RUW Bag and when I brought it home I was constantly asked where did I get it?  Everyone was fascinated by the fact that it was made from recycled materials.  I met the designer Jose Luis Lopez in Barcelona in February 2011 and since then we have been establishing the RUW brand in Ireland and UK.  It is already popular in Spain, Portugal, France, Italy, Czech Republic, Greece and Japan.

RUW Bags are handcrafted in a Spanish workshop to very high standards.  Because of the materials used these bags are unique, individual and interesting.  The array of colours means that one bag will match a multitude of outfits or even give a splash of colour to a plain ensemble.

The long straps on most styles facilitate wearing the bag across the body keeping hands free for shopping and are particularly good for traveling.  The abundance of pockets is a gift for the more organized person.

The RUW brand is based on very strong principles supporting the environment and human rights.  Jose Luis Lopez has dedicated some of his designs to highlight social issues like domestic abuse and child safety.  In addition to this, Ruw Design contributes part of profits to various human rights organizations which the designer promotes on his website.
