Soul of Africa and VIVOBAREFOOT Collaborate

This season Soul of Africa, a non-profit charity organization based in South Africa, have partnered up with VIVOBAREFOOT to develop Soul of Africa Barefoot, a footwear construction that has been designed to create ultimate quality and comfort. The patented sole provides maximum protection, while giving all the benefits of being barefoot. In addition, VIVOBAREFOOT is produced sustainably using recycled materials where possible, with efficient and eco-friendly production techniques, produced in independently monitored ethical factories.

Soul of Africa is proud to bring barefoot benefits back to the modern world. For each pair of these shoes sold £5 will be donated to Soul of Africa Trust to be used to assist orphans and vulnerable children who have been affected by the AIDs pandemic in South Africa.

In 2003 Lance Clark, 6th generation of the Clarks Shoe Family, was invited to South Africa to discuss ways to generate employment for the local women and soon after this, Soul of Africa was born. Initially Soul of Africa originated to create self-sustainable employment for previously unemployed women in South Africa, by training them to produce beautifully handmade shoes, which would then be sold in the UK, with a % of the profits generated being donated to the Soul of Africa Trust.

The projects that Soul Of Africa have funded, has created a positive difference to the lives of these children. Soul of Africa works with many different local projects that give children the opportunity to attend school and to benefit from the love and care of supportive adults. The projects that Soul of Africa supports can be found HERE.

Lance Clark said of the collaboration "I, Lance Clark having started Soul of Africa 6 years ago, am excited that the project has done so much to give previously destitute women real jobs and helped 7,000 African affected orphans and am confident that the new autumn shoes are the best collection yet."

Soul of Africa only continues to grow and develop and has raised over £1.3 million to provide for some 7,000 orphans to date. Soul of Africa shoes are available online and in selected stores in the UK.
