I spent nearly 10 years in the beauty industry as an environmental specialist -- now I'm freelancing.
Career history / Company history:
As professional "enviro-girl" for Aveda, I spent far too much time scouring the globe for eco-appropriate accessories and fashion to go with our makeup and hair products.

My name is Aline, I work for ABIT - The Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association, which represents the integration of the Brazilian textile chain. In order to help Brazilian companies grow both nationally and internationally, ABIT, with the partnership of APEX-Brasil, Trade and Investment Promotion Agency, created Texbrasil, Brazilian Fashion Industry Export Program, in 2001.
One of our main activities is to promote articulation between international buyers and Brazilian companies, improving our trade relations. International trade agents and/or buyers interested in our products might be invited to come to Brazil, with travelling expenses sponsored by ABIT, so they can get to know more about Brazilian fashion.
I am now responsible for inviting international buyers to a ethical fashion event that is coming up next November in Brasília, Brazil. It will be a great opportunity for the world to see the innovative combinations of design with traditional techniques, great natural beauties with technological tools and preservation of the environment with social work.
.
Please, let me know if you are interested and I will send you more information.
Hope you are well, and will be interested to learn about my recently launched, ethical accessories co., NV London Calcutta, shortlisted, in our launch season, for the EFF's Innovation Award and voted as having one of the Top 10 Ethical accessories from the August's Pure Womenswear Exhibition at London's Olympia.
Please do visit our site www.NVLondonCalcutta.com where you can view the current Collection & learn more about the people and processes behind the label. Coming soon, we'll be launching our all new, presentation packaged wallets and purses range, well in time for Christmas. You may also be interested to learn about our bespoke corporate division.
All our goods are designed in Britain, but produced in India, specifically West Bengal, using an IFAT registered manufacturer, locally sourced, natural materials, traditional production methods and environmentally friendly dyes etc.
Please let me know if you would like any further information, press rels etc.
If you'd like to be kept up to date with our happenings remotely, you can join our mailing list by sending us your email (we promise not to bore you with junk!) or become a fan of our Facebook page - NV London Calcutta which features sneak previews of product and behind the scenes news etc.
Best wishes,
Naomi

Hi Tara, nice blog. Bring back skirts. Skirts that mean something. Ethically-produced, eco-friendly skirts that give identity to the nameless, generate awareness of the invisible and create jobs for the poorest. And not just skirts but fashionwear accessories, etc etc etc.
