Profile Information

Profession / role:
fashion design tutor
Company / organisation:
amsterdam fashion institute
My primary role in relation to fashion is:
Tutor
I am looking to discover or buy
alternative ideas to infiltrate the mainstream
About me / About business or organisation:
i love art and design, am future orientated but with a sense of history. the curious world of fashion fascinates and frustrates with its polarities of attitude and action. i am also torn between the first and the third world, having been born in cape town south africa which i left in the early seventies because of the apartheid system and finally settled in socio-politically sane amsterdam.
Career history / Company history:
i was trained in cape town as an artist and later in amsterdam as a fashion designer, where i worked in the business as a freelance designer and finally moved on to education. i also ran my own small fashion label on and off between the early seventies until the mid nineties.

Hello there Linnemore,
I have been working with natural fibres in Nepal for a long time now and can supply you with fibre, yarns, textiles, as well as finished goods. Please have a look at www.heavenhemp.co.uk and www.wildweaves.co.uk to get an idea of what we do. I work with hemp, nettle, cactus, banana, bamboo . Hope to hear from you and would like to be your friend. Take care,
Udaya

I staged an African fashion show in Scotland last year and have just commissioned weavers in Worcester (RSA) to produce each of my African designs in preparation for our pre-World Cup fashion show in Cape Town. If you drop me a line at davidmcgill61@yahoo.co.uk I'll send you more details and images.
