Dear Elizabeth,

Hope you will be interested to learn about my recently launched, ethical accessories co., NV London Calcutta, shortlisted, in our launch season, for the EFF's Innovation Award and voted as having one of the Top 10 Ethical accessories from the August's Pure Womenswear Exhibition at London's Olympia.

Please do visit our site www.NVLondonCalcutta.com where you can view the current Collection & learn more about the people and processes behind the label.

All our goods are designed in Britain, but produced in India, specifically West Bengal, using an IFAT registered manufacturer, locally sourced, natural materials, traditional production methods and environmentally friendly dyes etc.

Please let me know if you would like any further information.

Your dissertation sounds very interesting. I think people go to the web as the highstreet is integrating ethical fashion so slowly. Some stores maybe have one or 2 pieces, which perhaps aren't immediately recognisable as ethical and people don't have the time to look closely at every piece in the shop to work out what is and isn't, so dedicated websites stocking multiple labels for good choice are much easier. There are dedicated ethical shops- it's just they are few and far between. I also think quality and good design in the ethical fashion world has a long way to go to complete with the high street. Ethical fashion is certainly a sector growing rapidly and products are constantly improving and becoming far more fashion led. It's just there is a long way to go before the perception of ethical fashion is improved in the mind of the general public as a whole and becomes a strong presence on the high street. You should definitely check out Ascesion Online who are about to launch a flagship store in St. Christopher's Place behind Selfridges in London. I think they are going to be the first really premium, destination outlet for completely ethical fashion.

If you'd like to be kept up to date with our happenings remotely, you can join our mailing list by sending us your email or become a fan of our Facebook page - NV London Calcutta which features sneak previews of product and behind the scenes news etc.

Good luck with everything.

Best wishes,

Naomi
