I need help in finding a company who can supply me with hand dyed wools, eco friendly and dyes that does hurt the environment, here in the US I am a heavy felter.

Sheila Melissa Palmer
Sheila M. Palmer is a fiber /mix media textiles artist. Her media is creating works of fine art for home interior, public, wearable arts, and theater. The blending of colors, print patterning, and graphic designs can be seen in all her works. The unbelievable usage of colors and techniques has been her specialty for over 20 years. With every one-of-a kind original piece, it takes on an expression of beauty never seen before. Sheila works in her studio Quetarshe, which integrates mix media into selected forms of fiber creating textiles for most functional use. She has spent most of her career as a professional artist researching creating, exhibiting, and traveling
Much of her works can be seen throughout the United States in homes, public environments where she has been commissioned. In 1995, and 1996 her works brought her national recognition when she exhibited at the International Contemporary Fine & Furniture Design Show in New York. Later she went on to exhibit at trade shows such as Philadelphia Home Show, American Craft Design Show, and the Chicago-One-of-A Kind Shows. She created the stage backdrop for theater production Song of Jacob Zulu in 2001 all woven and mixed with fibers and other media. She gained local recognition and an award from Wayne State University for that production. She recently exhibited in Boston Design Show in spring 2008 and have several shows scheduled over the next couple of years. She also has work in Italy and France by private patrons.
So much of her work is inspired by indigenous cultures from around the world. Techniques have been perfected by hands when working in theater, period clothing, interior design, and museums. She presently teaches some of her techniques part-time through the College for Creative Studies Community Arts Partnership programs throughout the Detroit metro areas. And her private tutor list is growing.
In additions to her art making Sheila M. Palmer has received traveling grants to continue her research in textiles and fibers. She is on committees, has memberships, and evolved in organizations that promote the arts and culture throughout the city. Currently she is working on felted inspired prayers rugs from the Moor’s Influence of Southern Spain from 14-17th century. Exhibition tentatively set for 2012 after spending more research time in Spain. Her website Quetarshe.com offers a more intense look at her works.
She received a BFA in Fiber and Art History, from Wayne State University, and a Fibers Certificate from College for Creative Studies, in Detroit Michigan. She currently resides in Detroit’s midtown culture area.
