About me / About business or organisation:: I am an artist and ran my own company for 20 years in Sydney Australia designing homewares, gifts, lighting and furniture for children. Halo Designs manufactured and sold these items on a wholesale basis. I now work as a Product Designer/Business Development and Marketing Director for a Maya Traditions Foundation a non-profit supporting 86 artisans and their families in the Highlands of Guatemala through education, providing work and business training.

Career history / Company history:: Maya Traditions Foundation was founded in the 1980's by Jane Mintz, a social worker and weaver. She began her Fair Trade Wholesale business in San Francisco and made her life's work the preservation of back strap weaving and the culture of the indigenous Maya. After Jane's death in 2009, the Foundation has gone through many changes and challenges and hopes to continue and expand the cultural values of the Maya as well as the Fair Trade model.
