Information & experience sharing. Sustainable fabric wholesale suppliers (to Australia).
About me / About business or organisation:
I started a fledgling label fresh out of fashion college, mainly selling at Young Designer Markets and in a couple retail stores. I design & produce all my pieces at my home-based studio.
Through gaining experience & insight into the clothing industry I am now aware of the many conventional industry practices occurring that are at the expense of the well-being of workers and causing relentless degradation to the environment.
I have chosen to be the alternative to the norm and am therefore working on a business and marketing plan to create a brand new label that expresses my own values of high-quality design and workmanship, longevity, and ethically sourced and produced garments.
Career history / Company history:
I currently manage a retail store for an Australian company that has been established for 40 years and still manufactures the vast majority of their product in Australia. While gaining insight into the industry I am saving capital to start my own Sustainable/Ethical women's clothing label within the next few years.

Hi Naomi. Love your dream of an ethical label, mainly because I share it. I'm trying to build mine to a viable business, though it's a struggle. Where are you at now with your label? I'd love to compare notes with someone trying to do a similar thing.
