Spiritex was founded in 2003 to provide a completely local and earth-conscious approach to the retail and wholesale industries of Western North Carolina. Career history / Company history:

In 1990, after screen-printing ventures and private label success, husband and wife team, Marylou Marsh and Daniel Sanders began designing organic textiles and apparel with Ecosport, the largest and most dynamic producer of organic cotton in the world. Together with Edward Mandeau, ML and Daniel were responsible for implementing organic cotton programs for several large companies including Nike, Levi’s, Danskin and Coldwater Creek. As an officer of the corporation and director of art and design, Marylou was instrumental in the growth of Ecosport and the eco-fashion movement.

After the sale of Ecosport to Gaiam Inc., Marylou and Daniel were ready to turn everything they had learned into something truly personal—and in 2003, Spiritex was born.
