Each Senhoa jewelry piece is individually handcrafted by a survivor of human trafficking or a young woman vulnerable to exploitation. Artisans are paid a fair wage and benefit from a comprehensive life skills curriculum.
Senhoa's passion is to create opportunities for survivors to earn an income, share their stories, and raise awareness against modern slavery.
Proceeds from the sale of Senhoa jewelry go directly to the rehabilitation and education of young women sold into slavery in Southeast Asia.
Career history / Company history:
Senhoa was founded in 2010 in the US.
We believe that access to dignified and safe employment is one of the most powerful armors to protect women from exploitation. Senhoa Jewelry is a holistic social enterprise that works with vulnerable persons and survivors to prepare them for healthy reintegration and sustainable freedom. Our objective is to create a successful business that employs survivor artisans to design and handcraft fashion accessories, providing them with safe and secure employment.
Today, high-end fashion accessories have delved into a whole new depth. Accessorizing has become more than a compliment to a woman’s wardrobe and beauty — it is now a channel through which a woman can make a statement of what she believes in.
Donned by celebrities such as supermodels Coco Rocha, Iman, Caroline Trentini and Behati Prinsloo, accessorizing with a conscience is not just a trend — it is timeless.
The evolution of fashion is a triumphant story of freedom and female empowerment. The next generation can use this conquest to stand up against slavery and move forward towards a more hopeful future.
