I would love to help other ethical companies establish successful brands and achieve substantial growth.
About me / About business or organisation:
I specialize in creating branding, promotional and educational materials for ethical companies, not for profit organisations and charities.
Career history / Company history:
I have worked for many ethical projects over the years, one of my main clients is Exclusive Roots. They support disadvantaged communities in Africa. Exclusive Roots provide a route to market for small businesses and entrepreneurs in Africa, it's an innovative project where producers are able to directly sell their products through the Exclusive Roots online store and two retail outlets in the UK. Not only does this enable the producers to reach markets that they would otherwise have been unable to reach, they earn a fair price for their goods, receive free business mentoring, product design, development, and quality control advice. All profits made by Exclusive Roots are re-invested into the project to allow it to carry on offering these services for free.
Exclusive Roots approached me initially to create their branding and e-commerce store, they wanted to move away from the 'back of the church' image that had become associated with Fair trade. I created a brand for Exclusive Roots that was sophisticated and contemporary, their website design needed to work in harmony with the wide range of colourful and creative products that they sell, this was achieved with a neutral colour scheme that doesn't compete with the users attention. It is a clean and simple design that also reflects the quality and high standards Exclusive Roots stand for.

The website was then followed up by two annual catalogues, in particular the 2009 catalogue directly resulted in a significant increase in sales. I was responsible for the complete production of the catalogue from concept to completion, this included arranging locations for photo shoots, styling of product shots, sourcing stylists for fashion shoots, planning logistics for the South African photo shoot, commissioning photographers, pack shots of products, editing of photos, full design & layout of catalogue & liaising with printers.

The project has been a great success and I would love to help achieve the same for other ethical companies.
