New developments in the fashion industry, of which my students will find informative.
About me / About business or organisation:
After more than 20 years in the fashion trade I decided to divert my career and become a tutor of fashion and clothing.
I am now finding it hard work to keep on top of the developments in the trade and would welcome insights into the progress being made into this particular field of ethical fashions.
Hi Naomi,
My college adress is j.connolly@burnley.ac.uk. I look forward to seeing your proposal as it will make the project much more interesting if it can be seen to produce a more professional finished outcome.... however this is further education and there is no budget available so anything produced would have to be at the students cost..... but maybe if you could give me some idea of the costs involved I could try to persuade the management to invest !
Sorry if this sounds negative, but any funding is tightly guarded and we mostly work with 'gifted' fabrics and accessories, so a competition, (like we recently ran with George,) would be at thier expense. That being said, we could still provide artwork and samples for you to select a winner, and the prize could be very small, even a letter / certificate is of value to my students in thier quest to become fashion professionals.
I understand if this is not what you had in mind and I will not take it personnally if you wish to recind your offer.
Thanks so much for your message and kind words. It sounds like an exciting project. I am very inerested in fostering new talent as a core principle of what I do.
My initial thoughts are that a print might work best. Do you have any budget, as it might be nice to produce the fabric and possibly a small run of product for the winner, obviously at cost, even if the print wasn't something we wanted to go with for a main production.
I will have a think about how it could work and a breif and come back to you asap.
Do you have a normal email and number I can reach you on?
