Handicrafts are an important element of cultural transmission, the trade of these crafts contribute to the economic and social vitality of participating communities. Henna's interest in craftsmanship stemmed from an independent study she designed which introduced her to Burkina Faso and the Village Artisanal de Ouagadougou. Working with artisans in Ouagadougou and her background in the arts inspired Henna to continue the search for effective tools that enhance cultural heritage in an increasingly globalised society. After earning an MSc in Culture and Society from the London School of Economics and studying at Central Saint Martins and Parsons, Henna works to combine her interest in cultural heritage and passion for craftsmanship in her designs.
