I use fabric scraps and factory waste yarns along with zero waste pattern techniques and wholegarment knitting machines as a way to reduce and repurpose waste materials in clothing production. While working, I'm continuing my research on sustainability, working with hemp fibre producer communities in Iwashima, Gunma prefecture and Tsukigase, Nara prefecture.
Hemp in Japan exemplifies many aspects related to sustainability such as identity, cultural heritage conservation, artisanal work and resilience, among others, with the use of wholegarments knitting machines, Hemp can have another view in Japan.
