About me / About business or organisation:
My current job as a technical designer at MAS Design has equipped me with 3 years experience in intimates manufacture. I am proud to say I started my career in a highly stressful environment with extremely tight deadlines and no tolerance for imperfection! Needless to say I learned much about the industry and much more about my capabilities as a designer. I handle concept development for bras, panties and sleepwear and have also worked on organic cotton projects for Victoria’s Secret. Many styles have gone into production, some proving themselves best-sellers.
The role of technical designer means that, apart from designing, I take selected styles through the design process, interacting with merchants and suppliers to ensure production feasibility. I am responsible for the smooth transition for concept styles into production and have a thorough knowledge of the manufacturing and design process for product development.
Career history / Company history:
The most exciting part of my current job is the opportunity of working with Victoria’s Secret. Exceeding their expectations is always a challenge and I have learnt a lot about customer communications and good relations. I travel to New York and Hong Kong for seasonal trend presentations and enjoy poring over sketches with the customer, pairing silhouettes with trims and forming product ranges for a new season.
I also offer design as an outsourced service by creating collections to be presented to customers, complete with raw material information, clear technical sketches for factory manufacture and prototypes for easy reference. My CAD skills are mainly in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
