I enjoy designing formal and casual clothing and accessories, I am versatile and have experience working on designs for most markets and styles. I am currently looking for work which will fulfil my creative potential within the ethical fashion sector.
Career history / Company history:
I graduated from the University of Leeds in 2002 and have since worked as a garment technologist and mainly as a freelance garment and fashion graphics designer. I have done a variety of creative projects and have recently completed a series of in-school creative workshops on environmental themes including ethical-fashion.
I have worked with brands aimed at women's, men's and children's ranges including various specialist markets from maternity and newborn baby-wear to club-wear and extreme sports clothing. I have worked on accessories such as bags, belts, gloves and hats and I have experience designing graphics for printed and embroidered motifs and printed textiles both for specific items and ranges of designs to be used at the customers discretion.
I have worked on knitwear, jerseys and wovens including denim and have an extensive knowledge of garment construction. I have experience liaising with factories, fitting and approving samples and producing technical drawings and feedback for improvements in fit. I can also cut first patterns and make prototype sample garments. I have strong freehand drawing and illustration skills and experience with Illustrator, PhotoShop and other CAD software. I can produce illustrations and technical drawings in most formats. I have also assisted with styling on photo shoots and helped to produce promotional material.
