Located in the quiet community of Vancouver, Washington, Second Star Designs is a small business owned and operated by a family with large dreams. Founded in 2008, each treasure created by our company is designed with beauty and comfort in mind. Using a variety of colors and textures, each item is carefully hand-crafted with attention to quality and detail; creating collections that are timeless and without a specific season. ​My runway designs are brilliantly colored, comfortable and filled with movement; upscale women’s contemporary clothing that is a pleasure to wear … garments that can be composted after they’ve worn out rather than donated to a local thrift store. Our entire clothing line is an artistic collaboration under the Second Star Designs label and have been orchestrated to create an unforgettably cohesive look.

With all the information circulating the internet, mainstream media, and social networking sites concerning organic products; supporting the growth and prosperity of small businesses; preserving our environment; actively supporting global Fair Trade Practices; protecting our children, the use of renewable resources; and generally trying to create a better world for our future generations, we'd like for you to know that Second Star Designs supports all of those endeavors ... and then some.

Our products are individually hand-crafted, with strict attention given to both quality and detail. We want our customers to be happy with their Treasures ... enough to tell their friends and family about them or pass them along to future generations. The only way for us to accomplish that is through careful consideration of our suppliers and sourcing of our materials. Where ever possible, we purchase organic fabrics manufactured from sustainable resources; we take steps to reduce our overall footprint by using innovative ways to turn discarded clothing items into wearable art.

As a small business, we support other businesses and artisans like ourselves through the direct purchase of our supplies and materials. The majority of our fabrics are supplied by small stores, located around the world; our trims and yarns and other amazing things come from artisans just like us; our sales are either directly to the customer or available in a local boutique.

Our Philosophy is simple: when it's time to leave, make sure that what you leave behind is better than what you originally found.
