Local Buttons creates refined, refurbished clothing designed for the modern young professional. It is about beautiful clothing serving people and planet.

Our goal is to mainstream refurbished clothing in a fashionable and sustainable way. All of our materials are hand-picked from the abundant second-hand "pépé" markets in Port-au-Prince. Working with skilled Haitian tailors we create refined refurbished fashion that embodies quality and beauty. Every design provides sustainable, fair-wage jobs and breathes new life into old materials.

We are pioneering the international movement of refurbishing pépé clothing in Haiti. Woven into each garment is the compelling history of Haiti's clothing industry and how it ties in to the global fashion market. LB brings you an inside view on the manufacturing process and sustainable design.

Career history / Company history:

I am currently finishing my Master's in Environmental Applied Science and Management focusing on voluntary initiatives in the fashion industry.

Local Buttons began selling in late 2011.
