Jeannette’s work explores different sustainable approaches. She uses materials such as tencel, hemp, silk hemp, plastic bags and designer scrap fabric to create timeless pieces which are both fashion and art . Her main concern is being able to make clothing wipe clean and pre-stained to reduce the need to wash the clothing she designs.

The idea of this project was born out of her MA research an she would like to continue investigating as she is of the opinion that the way we do business is destroying communities and needs to change .Jeannette believes a solution to poverty in the UK could be turned into an opportunity if co-operatives were set up to make clothing locally, where new skills could be taught providing self esteem and generating a feeling of achievement in those making the clothes in the co-operatives.
